SMOKE Restaurant Branding
Step into a world that celebrates South Africa’s remarkable wines and MCCs, the love for the outdoors, and the art of cooking over fire. A celebration of life in the Capital.
The brief was to create a modern brand that acts as platform that celebrates South African excellence. Illustrated icons were created to represent different spaces within SMOKE, each with its own distinct character:
The Capital Bar: An iconic landmark, Inspired by the splendour of the Union Building and the famous Jacaranda Trees of Pretoria.
The SMOKE Yard: Stacked wood, ready to fuel the flames for culinary adventures.
The Brunch Bar: The graceful Secretary Bird and the beautiful South African Protea, a symbol of rich heritage and natural beauty.
The Pangolin. This endangered South African animal represents the exclusive SMOKE VIP club.
In addition to crafting the brand identity, we created wallpaper concepts for the interior restrooms.
Each hand illustrated icon was translated into a repeat pattern, making use of the brand colour palette.
